You want to practice sharing your voice.
Maybe you are new to singing and you are feeling anxious. Maybe you are wondering if it’s okay to share your voice even if it’s shaky. Maybe you want to practice sharing your voice in a community that celebrates unlearning perfectionism. Maybe you want to share your voice with others, whilst anchoring into a meditation/mindfulness practice. Maybe you want to sing, connected to meaning, playfulness and connection over perfectionism.

When is it happening?
The next Sing Because Open Mic is Thursday May 29th, 7pm-8:30pm.
How does it work?
Once monthly (ish), I will host an intimate open mic for up to 10 people. Show up with a song to sing along with a karaoke track or accompany yourself with your guitar or other instrument (a digital piano will be available).
*If you are a client I work with regularly, I will be able to accompany you if that is your preference.
How is this different from other open mics?
This open mic will borrow from the core elements of the Sing Because class series which is all at once a group singing class, book club and meditation group.
Each Sing Because Open Mic night will start with a source of inspiration for reflection and conversation. This may be a poem, an excerpt from a book, a song or a painting. There will be space for community connection and engagement followed by a guided meditation/mindfulness practice and a vocal warm up.
The rest of the evening will be song shares! Everyone will have a chance to sing one song and an environment of celebration and support for each singer is woven into the fabric of the evening.
The evening will close with a guided mindfulness practice.
How to participate?

You can send the karaoke track you will be using and/or the youtube link and I will set it up for you.
